While we show this every day by helping New England locals make their financial dreams a reality, we realise that the best way to make communities stronger is by supporting the organisations that bring people together for the common good. We've decided to put the power to change local lives in your hands, Armidale. We're calling on all community organisations to raise their voice - simply by uploading a photo and telling us a little about yourself, you're in with a chance to take home a share in $5,000 each and every month. We'll then showcase three chosen organisations each month, asking the community to vote on which one they'd like to see given a helping hand. Each month, we'll select three lucky organisations and let you decide who you'd like to see given a much needed financial boost! June 2017 RSPCA Armidale - $3,000 RSPCA Armidale provide both care and shelter for animals, as well as education and training within the community. They plan to use Greater Bank's Community Funding to conduct much needed repairs to their Education van, so that they can continue to visit local schools and raise awareness on the proper treatment and care of animals. New England Burns Club - $1,000 New England Burns Club aim to keep Scottish cultural traditions alive by teaching and holding competitions in Highland Dancing. They plan to use Greater Bank's Community Funding to help facilitate the costs of hosting their 2018 event, so that locals can put their skills to the test! Walkley Golf - $1,000 Walkley Golf's aim is to promote physical and social development in young people by making the game of golf more accessible. They plan to use Greater Bank's Community Funding to pilot a program which will allow them entry to local schools, so that they can spread the message about this wonderful sport. May 2017 Camp Quality Armidale - $3,000 Guyra Pony Club - $1,000 Starfish Initiatives - $1,000 April 2017 Armidale City Church - $3,000 Helping Children & Families Armidale - $1,000 Locals 4 Locals - $1,000 March 2017 Armidale Men's Shed - $3,000 Armidale Men's Shed produce speciality timber products to raise money for community initiatives, and provide learning opportunities for locals. The shed has experienced steady growth, and enjoys broad community support, and will use Greater Bank's community funding to initiate a men's health program for Armidale locals. Armidale MS - $1,000 MS Armidale is both a support group and fundraising organisation, operating under the auspices of MS Australia, whose purpose is to help people within the Armidale region living with Multiple Sclerosis MS Australia will use Greater Bank's funding to continue to provide services and care to ensure locals living with MS can live life to its fullest. Tour De Rocks - $1,000 The Tour is a yearly bike ride held to engage and inspire communities to work together to make a difference in the fight against cancer. The Tour will use Greater Bank's Community Funding to continue to provide subsidised services for counselling and massage, and to run their Cancer support group. February 2017 Armidale & District Amateur Radio Club - $3,000 Armidale & District Amateur Radio Club, based in Newling, provides a space for radio enthusiasts to get together and spread community spirit through broadcasting.The equipment ADARC has currently, as well as the challenging surrounding terrain, means that a number of ‘black-spots’ exist which aren’t able to be reached by transmission. ADARC will use Greater Bank’s community funding to install extra repeater stations and link them back to their base at their Newling club house. Armidale Girls Brigade - $1,000 Armidale Girl’s Brigade consists of 6 comitte members and 26 young members, meeting weekly and hosting yearly camps, with a goal of empowering you girls and women to be themselves, to develop and use their gifts and skills, and to discover what it means to live life to its fullest. The Girl’s Brigade will use Greater Bank’s community funding to provide much needed and expensive transportation for it’s 2017 Camp, which will see young members travel to Sydney. Uralla United FC - $1,000 Uralla Football Club is home to around 100 young girls and boys each year, and the club’s goal is to encourage kids to get involved in sport, and keep fit and healthy. Existing purely on the back of membership and community support, Uralla FC is a largely volunteer run organisation, and will use Greater Bank’s community funding to provide brand new uniforms (and hoodies to keep warm) for the region’s future footballing stars. January 2017 2nd Armidale Scouts Group - $3,000 The aim of The Scouts Association is to encourage the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people, so that they take a constructive place in society as responsible citizens. The 2nd Armidale Scouts Group will use Greater Bank's community funding for a large portable shelter with fold out frame and cloth roof, to use at camps and other outdoor events. Armidale Eistedfodd Society - $1,000 Armidale Eisteddfod Society work very hard in producing Eisteddfods each year. During the Eisteddfod we see talented children and young adults displaying their talents in the areas of Vocal, Keyboard, Speech and Drama, Brass and Woodwind, Strings and Bands and Ensembles. The Society will use Greater Bank's Community Funding to employ a vocal coach to help participants further develop their talents. Armidale Breastfeeding Association - $1,000 Armidale Breastfeeding Association provides a very relaxed atmosphere where toddlers and babies are welcome. ABA would use Greater Bank's Community Funding to facilitate one on one mother to mother support from locally trained counsellors. December 2016 Young Life Uralla - $3,000 Young Life Australia aims to bring about personal growth and positive outcomes in young people. Greater Bank's Community funding will be put to good use providing afternoon clubs, which provide a safe space for local youth to be influenced by positive adult role models. Armidale City Band - $1,000 Armidale City Band plan to use Greater Bank's community funding for a number of things such as new music, contribution towards instrument maintenance, and to engage the services of a Musical Director with the purpose of building up the band from a learner/beginner band. Armidale Community Care Van - $1,000 Armidale Community Care Vanis loking to make the Armidale Community Greater by providing food for the 200 plus local homeless population. Delivering meals twice a week, the motto of the Care Van is 'it's easier to care than to turn away'. November 2016 Global Care Food Pantry Armidale - $3,000 Global Care Food Pantry Armidale is a volunteer-run organisation that operates to allow struggling locals to purchase food at an affordable price, putting food on the table for their families. The Pantry has been assisting locals make ends meet for almost three years, helping feed between 20-35 Armidale families each week. The Pantry will use Greater Bank’s funding to contribute towards a by being able to continue purchasing food...
